Luxury, luxury, luxury

We made it into KL in one piece. After unwinding from the small Air Asia seats, we were surprisingly sprightly -- we actually made it to the immigration counters in record time. A first for us!

After picking up the bags and finding the bus terminal, we departed for Sentral, the main bus line an hour from KL and the locale of the nearest bed. Despite a few good hours of sleep in the air, we were ready to continue the honeymoon with more sleep. Forget KL, bring on the sheets!

Because of our crazy dash to get out of Sydney, we did not have a chance to make reservations ahead of time in KL for accommodations for the night. We reasoned, "Hey, it's a big city, we aren't picky, finding a room should be easy." Upon getting to Sentral this was put to the test. Every single hostel and hotel we went to was booked. It was already past midnight and we had to get up at 4am to catch the next flight. Having about 4 hours of sleep between us from the last 60 hours, we were becoming desperate for a room. Any room.

Our aforementioned state of "non-pickiness" was put to the test as we discovered the only room left in a 2 km radius of Sentral was a box with 2 bare mattresses that stank of urine, had no windows or AC, no bathroom, and no working lock. Ah, our first honeymoon bed together, wearing full clothes and wrapped tightly in our own sheets to avoid bed bugs. Luxury, luxury, luxury.
